Image“Era” is the brand new release of the legendary neo-classic band In The Nursery celebrating the 25 years of their existence. Instead of going with a classic compilation, Klive and Nigel decided to bring to the surface a brand new recording album which represents the new era of ITN. The participant of this release apart from Klive and Nigel is of course Dolores, already known to us from numerous album and live presentations as well as a nice surprise Sarah J Lawley known for here collaboration with Massive Attack.
I remember 27 years back when ITN began with the industrial scene and their fantastic classic album “Compulsion” moving years after to the soundtrack-ish “Stormhorse” and forwarding to the renaissance “Groundloop” just 7 years ago. I supported back in time, and after their fantastic live show, that they should move to original orchestral percussions and compose a classical piece, to move in to the “Era” they truly belong, and they finally did it.
The atmospheres created from the strings are truly fantastic and combines nicely with the vocals, excellent musical and soundtrack themes that will definitely be loved, this is an album to create atmosphere and to make you question yourself about emotions, decisions and the new era one should dare to cross. Production is fantastic and very “clean” passing emotions and hardness direct to your chest, as for the layout it is also representing the new concept. There is no question about the best track of this cd, to me it is a classical piece of work and if I start playing it on the stereo I will close it after the whole cd is finished. If you are a fan of this band, this is the next step you were waiting for. If this is your first time reading about ITN, well thank god for us, it isn’t.
