ImageDaniel Myer needs no real introduction in the electronic scene with amongst his tally, Haujobb and the factor he now dabbles with Covenant to name a couple.
Architect has come along in leaps and bounds and this latest offering could arguably be his best piece of work under this moniker to date.

ImageBoth of these acts have made a name for themselves within the scene for producing some pretty impressive club wrecking no-holds-barred industrial and this split CD pretty much hammers that truth home with a vengeance.
Comprising of ten tracks, six of which are Xotox and Detune-X passing the mantle to and fro to each other there are two tracks remixed from each artist and two full collaborative tracks to feast on.

ImagePure party time again for 100Blumen, time to let your hair down and go all out on the beat-first questions later approach we are all used to, but with a few interesting other avenues to mull on along the way.
A more sublime, quiet intro as an opener leads to ‘The Unrest’ which goes straight for the jugular and will surely set some dance floors alight when in the live arena.

ImageLooking through the press release before hitting ‘play’ the band names ‘Interpol’ and ‘Portishead’ were loosely used as a comparison for some of this acts work; being a fan of both I was more than intrigued; unfortunately this led to a let down. There is an element of what is playfully termed as ‘intelligent pop’ within the realms of this album, and musically in a lot of respects this has been utilised pretty well; there is however one major downside to the whole of this release, namely the vocals; without a doubt one of the most feeble attempts at singing I have heard in a while.

ImageAnother highly anticipated release for me; I am always eager to hear anything from the collective as it feeds my penchant for all things ambient.
‘Solitaire’ seems to be based around a collection of memories from years past; thinking of the place you once lived and the emotions that swell up from those small rifts in time that heighten your senses such as fragrances and sounds that trigger all those elements that make life what it is.

ImageHas it really been so long since Imminent (Starvation)‘s last full-length release ‘Nord’? However long then it certainly seems well worth the wait as this reeks of excellence from the word go.
Opener ‘Seracs’ harks an immense return with cut and paste glitches that build into a monster of suspense and driving beats and bass that carry subtle chopped up vocals into an impressive array of driven electronics.
Ghost like operatic vocals are catapulted along with ‘Gari’ and its insane mash up of plastic beats that trip over each other and never totally lose sight of themselves; this in turn ios followed by the outright lunacy of ‘Bock’ which folds smashing rhythm sections into industrial madness and an undercurrent of dare I say it, Gabba; of course I do use this terminology loosely as to be frank, its fucking mental no matter what genres fly out at you.

ImageAn interesting debut CD extended player compromising of two original tracks and remixes displaying Spectraliquid’s abilities of finding us new artists to listen to. Gentle electronics mixed with airy synth and tripping light drum patterns, subtle vocal elements and a charming warmth make up the opening title track, giving way to something of a small soundtrack the way the vocal samples lightly infuse the music; this in turn leads to Poordream’s own remix of the track that takes an altogether more different dance approach as not to lead to monotony, following suit with yet another mix that is as different as it comes and is entirely commercial distancing itself from the original entirely.

ImageFrom the offshoot I wouldn’t have deemed the subject matter one to be covered by the scene, poetry being something that abhors me down to my very core as a whimsical excuse for being more than pathetic at every level; given this I am not going to give a poet any quarter here, no matter who they were.  Still, he did some interesting cinematography and has to be hailed for such works as ‘Salo’, which ‘Time Out’ magazine once described as “The most controversial film of all time”; so not all bad then.

ImageI was prepared for some powernoise (sorry for the rubbish terminology) if truth be told when I approached this album and I don’t know why considering the title of the disc. For the first few numbers in all honesty while being more than competent this didn’t over-engage me, far from it as it did meander down the noise route and tampered with a bit too much reverb on the production for my liking.

ImageIts been a long, long while since I heard from this bunch; after a period of hallucinogenic trippy dance infused music I had stopped really listening to them, so was more than pleased when I hit ‘play’ on this latest instalment. Off the mark comes the stilton ridden Satanic samples that tie in Rock music as the work of the devil in pure vaudeville fashion that is reminiscent of the Thrill Kill Kult’s earlier leanings and one which will always be synonymous with the band.
